Green Tax Scheme - How OAK Clients Benefit
According to the government website, businesses can claim capital allowance for energy efficient and low-carbon technology, meaning that they can deduct the full cost of these technologies from their profits before tax.
This is great news for OAK Network clients, as we have had it verified by a tax expert that our energy monitoring hardware qualifies for this capital allowance scheme.
This government tax scheme means energy management is a no brainer.
When you receive your OAK quote there are 2 separate costs:
- The hardware cost – the price of our monitoring sensors, which we will install on your electrical meters and appliances This falls under the green capital allowance scheme and can be 100% claimed back as a capital allowance.
- The membership fee – the monthly or yearly membership fee that you pay to OAK Network for access to our energy management platform, personalised insights, quarterly reports, and much more. This is not tax deductible.
To put it simply, upfront technology costs can be claimed back at the end of the tax year, meaning the membership fee is the only real cost of our services. And with 15-20% savings on their electricity bills thanks to our recommendations, clients can quickly make back their membership fee too.
It has never been so cost efficient to be green.
